'Bedded Down for the Winter' is an original acrylic painting, on gallery-wrapped canvas, depicting a tiny inchworm.

This “inchworm” or “looper” is most likely a caterpillar to a geometer moth—one of the largest family of moths the with over 23,000 species, over 1400 of which are indigenous to North America. The scientific name Geometridae derives from the Greek words for “the earth” and “measure.” This particular tiny alien was wrapping itself up in a protective cocoon in late October inside an Anemone flower that had gone to seed.
